The temporary recruitment sector rebounded in September, according to the latest figures from Swiss Staffing, the Swiss Federation of Staffing Companies. Compared with a strong performance in September 2012, temporary recruitment grew by +1.5%. This growth offsets the -6.4% decline reported in August.
Despite this growth temporary recruitment for the year as a whole remains stagnant. Growth for the year up to September remains at -0.6% compared with the same period last year.
However, the longer-term outlook remains positive. The Swiss State Secretary for Economic Affairs (SECO) has marginally upgraded its autumn forecast. For the current year, SECO expects a moderate economic growth of +1.8%. A stronger economic recovery is expected during the course of 2014.
