The temporary recruitment sector declined slightly in October, according to the latest figures from Swiss Staffing, the Swiss Federation of Staffing Companies. Compared with a strong performance in October 2012, temporary recruitment fell by -1.8% compared to the same period in the prior year; offsetting the +1.5% increase reported in September.
Temporary recruitment for the year as a whole remains stagnant. For next year, the association is hoping for an improvement of market conditions, driven by growth in the global economy.
However, the longer-term outlook remains positive. The Swiss State Secretary for Economic Affairs (SECO) has marginally upgraded its autumn forecast. For the current year, SECO expects a moderate economic growth of +1.8%. A stronger economic recovery is expected during the course of 2014.
