The Swiss temporary recruitment sector reported that the number of temporary jobs fell by -0.7% during November 2013, compared with the same month last year, according to the latest figures from Swiss Staffing, the Swiss Federation of Staffing Companies.
The development in the industry throughout 2013 was nearly parallel to that reported during 2012. However, an unexpectedly poor performance during August 2013, which was not offset by any marked year-on-year improvement in the following months, pushed the average year-to-date growth rate into negative figures. Since the beginning of the year, the temporary recruitment sector has contracted by an average rate of -1.3%.
For 2014, Swiss Staffing reports that the overall economic outlook remains positive. Forecasters expect an overall economic growth rate of more than +2% during 2014 and 2015. Swiss Staffing expects a revival of the temporary recruitment sector during 2014.
