Businesses in Sweden expect the staffing industry to hold up in the fourth quarter of the year with more than half of companies (63%) anticipating increased demand, according to a new survey by the Swedish association of staffing agencies.
This has also found that a quarter of those surveyed expect things to remain the same while 13% predict a decline in staffing services.
38% of staffing companies plan to increase hiring levels while just under half expect to keep headcount levels flat, compared to 14% anticipating a reduction in staff levels.
In the third quarter, 30% of staffing firms boosted their number of employees, while the majority made no changes (42%) and 28% cut down on their headcount.
Overall, the survey concluded that prospects for staffing services remained good for the final quarter of the year. Around 140 companies engaged in providing employment and recruitment services were questioned for the report.
