Sweden — Poolia revenues down by -9%

Poolia AB (POOLB:STO), the Swedish temporary and employment staffing agency has announced interim results for the third quarter of 2009. Revenues were down by -9% from 349.2 million Euro in Q3 2008 to 317.9 million Euro in Q3 2009.

Revenues in the Swedish market accounted for 151.4 million Euro in Q3 2009 compared to 186.4 million Euro in Q3 2008, which is a decrease of -18%.


Revenues in Denmark fell by -72% from 3.6 million Euro in Q3 2008 to 1 million Euro in Q3 2009. Revenues in Finland decreased by -3% from 7.9 million Euro in Q3 2008 to 7.7 million Euro in Q3 2009.

In Germany revenues dropped by -19% from 27.5 million Euro in Q3 2008 to 22.3 million Euro in Q3 2009.
Operating profit fell from 28.9 million Euro in Q3 2008 to 3.6 million Euro in Q3 2009.

Johan Eriksson, Poolia's President and CEO, commented "after the first two quarters of slowdown in recruitment we expected a challenging third quarter. We see a stabilisation in the recruitment field and a moderate increase in the contract business from the previous quarter."

"In healthcare staffing we continue to grow. We have also consolidated our activities and we will have a smaller representation in Copenhagen, with the bulk of our resources located in Sweden."

In early trading Poolia's shares were down by -2.42% to 32.20 Swedish Kronor
