Spain - Tips for being happy at work

14 August 2012

There are two reports today from Adecco and Randstad on the Spanish market where unemployment currently stands at an official 25%.

Adecco reports that eight out of ten Spanish are happy in their current jobs, but 44.7% would change their profession if they could go back in time because happiness is depleted over time. According to the recruiter what makes us happy at work is as follows:

  • The workplace.
  • Salary.
  • Personal fulfilment.
  • Good times.
  • Professional development.
  • The boss.
  • Recognition.
  • Proximity of work.
  • The social benefits.

Meanwhile Randstad appear to support these finds with its report that 72% of Spanish professionals have estimated that the friendship of his colleagues in the workplace is more important than the total salary.

At a European level, Randstad believes shows that 65% of respondents are ”friends" within their co-workers, a figure that rises to 80% for Spanish. Italy leads the ranking, with 84% of respondents admitted to having "good friends" in their professional environment.
