The Spanish parliament's sub-committee on labour market affairs yesterday approved the proposal to allow temporary employees to work in the construction industry and in public sector administration, La Informacion reports.
The amendment by parliament to Spanish law requests that the government discuss the matter with unions, temporary employment agencies and ultimate employers representatives over the months to come.
The amendments will now be considered by the upper house of parliament (Senado). It is hoped that the amendments, which are based on a European Union directive, will become law in early 2010.
