Staffing firms in Spain have come together to merge a new group and form the largest trade body in the Spanish recruitment industry in a move to boost the troubled labour market. The Association of large temporary employment agencies (Agett) has fused with the state association of staffing companies (Aett) to create the new organisation.
The formation will be known as Asempleo. Agett and Aett are both members of the international confederation of private employment agencies, Ciett. ManpowerGroup will join as a new member as the firm was previously not affiliated with any of the groups.
In a statement to Staffing Industry Analysts, Agett said that Asempleo represents 90% of the industry of private employment services in Spain. “It has been created to offer solutions to the Spanish labour market.”
The new association will represent the vast majority of the Spanish staffing market. Among the 41 Asempleo members are other multinationals recruiters such as Randstad, Adecco, Unique, Eulen Flexiplan, and Synergie.
Agett further said that: “The Spanish labour market is still very damaged. We continue destroying employment and it is especially hard for our companies. Asempleo has been created to strengthen our industry, and therefore, the employment and the capability of job creation.”
