Spain — Number of outplacement programmes up by 22.7% in 2009

Lee Hecht Harrison (part of Adecco), the talent solutions company focused on delivering Career Transition, Leadership Consulting and Workforce Solutions, has published new research about outplacement programmes in the Spanish market.

The research reveals that the number of authorised Labour Force Adjustment Plans (ERE) in Spain has gone up by 211% in 2009 when compared to 2008.

During the same period the number of outplacement programmes has increased by 22.7% from 5,253 in 2008 to 6,445 in 2009.

The duration of the average individual outplacement programme has increased from 5.9 months in 2008 to 7 months in 2009.

The duration of the average group outplacement programme has increased from 6 months in 2008 to 7.4 months in 2009.

76% of candidates who participate in outplacement programmes find a new job in less than one year's time.

In 2009, 69% of participants in individual outplacement programmes and 74% of participants in group outplacement programmes accepted a lower salary level in their new jobs compared to their old jobs.
 
During the year where 25.6% less new companies were founded compared to 2008, 12% of participants in individual outplacement programmes and 6% of participants in group outplacement programmes founded their own companies.
