Portugal — New Adecco call centre in Guarda

18 September 2009

Professional staffing group Adecco has decided to open a client support call centre in the Guarda region of Portugal, close to the Spanish boarder. The staffing group will create 250 jobs and invest 800,000 Euro in the venture, Jornal de Noticias reports.

Paulo Canoa, Managing Director of Adecco Portugal says, "the Guarda region offers ideal conditions for our business. We did some research on the population of Guarda as well as people's qualifications and levels of employment and we came to the conclusion that we would be able to find adequate personnel quite easily."

"There is also the possibility of servicing the Spanish market from here and the Centre for Employment and Professional Training as well as other teaching institutions in the area are a useful thing to have close by."

The new call centre will be operational from the beginning of 2010. It will provide back office services such as after sales, chasing up invoices, tele-sales and general customer services for clients in the telecommunications, banking and other sectors.
