Poland – Employees do not fear losing their jobs

13 August 2014

The majority of employees (79%) do not fear that they may lose their jobs, while 78% of employers plan to stay in the same role, according to the Labour Market Barometer commissioned by Work Service S.A. the Polish contract, RPO and outsourcing company. The study was conducted on a sample of 522 employees and 300 firms.

Only 16% of the surveyed employees are afraid of losing their jobs in the next two years, most of them being part-time employees and earning less than the average wage. While only 12% of the surveyed firms plan to increase their workforce, only 6% contemplate downsizing. Firms employing over 250 people account for 48% of companies intending to take on new staff. Just under half of employees (49%) expect pay rises, but just 5% of employers express willingness to meet these expectations.

Tomasz Hanczarek, CEO of Work Service says that the results are particularly encouraging given that they represent a significant improvement on last year’s findings.
