Prospective apprentices were invited to employment speed-dating in Oslo in a new initiative to support young people into work. The speed-dating is a joint initiative between the Confederation of Norwegian Enterprises [NHO], Confederation of Trade Unions [LO], Norway’s Automotive Federation [NBF], and the Department for Education in Oslo.
Following a prep session, the applicants are allocated three-minute slots to meet with business representatives from across the industry. Last year, 500 of the 759 applicants from Oslo were successful in finding placements through employment speed-dating. Participant feedback was positive and further speed-dating sessions are being organised for later in the year.
