Per Bergerud has announced that he has accepted a new job and will be stepping down from his position as Chairman of the Confederation of Norwegian Enterprises (NHO) in Oslo and Akershus.
Mr Bergerud is also stepping down from his position at recruitment firm Proffice. Mr Bergerud has worked at Proffice for 13 years, of which ten-and-a-half years were as company CEO. He is presently the Director of Business Development for Proffice Group.
On the 1 January 2014, Mr Bergerud will assume the role of Director of Biathlon for the 2016 World Championships. He said: “I am really looking forward to working with skiing fulltime. Through my directorship of the Ski Association my desire to work more with skiing has increasingly become more important.”
Mr Bergerud is a former ski jumper who won a gold medal in the team large hill event at the 1982 Nordic World Ski Championships in Oslo. During his career he won eight individual ski jumping national championships.
“It is with great sadness that I resign from the role of Chairman of NHO Oslo and Akershus. Being a representative of the NHO system is a very exciting and important post. I am both proud and confident that NHO Oslo and Akershus is in the best hands with very dedicated and competent management and control,” he concluded.
On the 1 January 2014, Deputy Chairman Vidar Berg will assume the role of Chairman of the NHO until elections can be held in April 2014.
