There were 68,000 job vacancies in Q3 2011, up +4,100 compared with the same quarter of last year. The majority of the growth took place in the private sector, according to the latest data published by Statistics Norway.
Growth of job vacancies was strongest in administrative and support service activities with +2,300. The information and communication sector and the mining and quarrying industry both saw growth of +600, while construction experienced a decline of -1,400 job vacancies.
In the public sector there was a decline in job vacancies in education of -300, while health service, residential care and social work jobs vacancies declined by -200.
