The Recruitment & Employment Confederation (REC) has appointed Tina McKenzie as new REC Regional Director for Northern Ireland. Tina is the Country Director for the Staffline Group and her role will focus on continuing to build the recruitment industry’s voice in Northern Ireland. She will also be driving policy and awareness-raising campaigns; such as youth employment and the reform of the employment regulations.
Commenting on the appointment, Tina said: “This is a great opportunity to make a difference by driving recognition for the role that recruiters play in Northern Ireland and by taking forward a number of pressing policy campaigns. The aim is to work collaboratively with other recruitment professionals and to build on existing relationships with politicians and business organisations. With jobs and growth at the top of the political agenda, it is more important than ever to ensure that the recruitment industry in Northern Ireland has a strong collective voice.”
The REC is the professional body for the UK recruitment industry with over 260 branches operating in Northern Ireland within REC membership. The REC is in regular contact with the Department for Employment & Learning (DEL) and with key stakeholders such as CBI NI and the NI Equalities Commission.
REC Director of Policy & Professional Services, Tom Hadley added: “Tina’s energy, drive and experience of the recruitment market will enable us to build on recent progress, and position the REC as a major voice on employment issues in Northern Ireland. With regulations covering our sector being reviewed by DEL and other major campaigns afoot on issues such as procurement and diversity, there has never been a more important time to influence the policy agenda in Northern Ireland. I look forward to working with Tina to galvanise the active involvement of all REC members in Northern Ireland.”
