Randstad today announced the appointment of François Béharel to the executive board for an initial four-year term. The appointment is still subject to shareholder approval due to take place in March next year.
Mr Béharel first joined VediorBis as a regional Director in 1999 and, following the merger of Randstad with Dutch recruiter Vedior, he later became CEO of the new combined Randstad Group France in 2009.
Meanwhile it has been announced that Brian Wilkinson is to step down as a member of the executive board which he joined in 2008. His responsibility at Randstad includes the combined businesses in the UK, Australia & Pacific (Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Sri Lanka), the Middle East (United Arab Emirates), India and China. His career has seen him work for Vedior as UK development manager before joining Vedior's board of management in 2003. Mr Wilkinson is a very experienced industry veteran having previously worked for a number of UK staffing brands such as SOS, Hestair, HMS, Initial, BET and Select Appointments.
Last month, Randstad reported sharp falls in revenue across its European markets, especially in France where business confidence has been on the decline for months. The firm is continuing cost cutting measures, after having announced job cuts across Germany and the Netherlands earlier this year.
