Netherlands – New Flex Barometer launched

12 February 2013

The Dutch federation of staffing firms (ABU) has partnered with one of the country’s largest trade unions, FNV, to launch a new service and provide more data and figures about the local staffing market.

The association has launched a new website, Flex Barometer, which will help companies, unions and policy makers to find out more about the Dutch staffing market. The website provides key features about flex workers, which includes temporary and fixed-term workers as well as freelancers.

Users can gain a greater insight into various sectors and the types of flex workers. The information provided is backed up by official data. The project received government support by the Ministry of Social Affairs and Employment.

The Netherlands has a very flexible labour force when compared to other European countries. A quarter of the workforce was involved in some form of flexible labour in 2011 and the numbers are likely to increase in the future.
