Netherlands – ManpowerGroup acquires payrolling firm

Global staffing firm ManpowerGroup (MAN: US) announced yesterday its acquisition of a majority stake in Dutch payroll, staffing, and payroll consulting firm Saralrisprofs. This marks the first acquisition by the Dutch arm of the company since it bought recruitment firm Vitae in 2008.

Financial details of the Salarisprofs transaction were not released.

Jilko Andringa, Director of ManpowerGroup Netherlands, advised that the partnership with Salarisprofs complements the existing services of Experis, the professional talent business of ManpowerGroup. “For a little while we have seen positive developments in the professional segment. The demand for well-trained professionals, particularly in IT, finance, and engineering, is growing.”

“The partnership that we have entered into with Salarisprofs offers us an interesting advantage. Every company has a payroll service. This is a complex and specialised profession. Thanks to our new partner, we have immediately gained a lot of expertise in this area in-house. The acquisition is thus perfectly complementary,” Mr Andringa added.

Esther van der Born, Business Manager at Salarisprofs, primarily sees the collaboration as a way to accelerate growth: "This is a unique opportunity to further expand our market. Thanks to the customer relationships across all of ManpowerGroup’s brands we can tap into a wider audience. It also provides us with new opportunities to source even more challenging assignments for our staff.”

Salarisprofs will remain a separate brand and the current management team will remain in place. Ms van der Born will continue running the company. The company currently employs 25 permanent members of staff and 25 freelancers. 

On the back of a positive 2013, Mr Andringa commented: “The market is giving us room to expand. In recent months our organisation has focused on growth. We are not interested in big acquisition, but in collaborations with, or acquisitions of, specialised partners. We will also continue our quest for interesting niche players in the HR industry.”
