Just before Valentine's Day, temporary staffing firm Unique (part of USG People), has carried out research on the acceptability of flirting in the workplace. 61% of surveyed employees said that flirting with colleagues is acceptable.
37% said that flirting at any level of the corporate hierarchy is acceptable. 24% said that whilst flirting with colleagues is perfectly alright, flirting with the boss on the other hand is a complete taboo.
39% of respondents said that flirting at work is simply not an option.
Tolerance for flirting at work has not changed since 2008 when a previous survey by Unique on the subject also found that 61% of employees thought that flirting with colleagues was acceptable.
