According to the latest four-weekly report from the Dutch Staffing Association (ABU), the number of hours worked by temporary employees and the revenues generated by temporary employment agencies during the first four weeks of 2010 fell by -8% compared to the same period in 2009.
The period had one more working day than the same period last year. In the preceding four weeks the turnover generated by temporary staffing agencies fell by -23% year-on-year, while a year ago turnover fell by -18% during the first four weeks of the year.
In the medical sector the number of hours worked by temporary employees fell by -15% while turnover fell by -11%. In the administrative sector hours were down by -13% and so was turnover. In the industrial sector hours and turnover fell by -2%. In the technical sector, hours and turnover fell by -11%.
