USG People has been selected by the Dutch Defence Department to help with find jobs for about 6000 employees who will become redundant in the near future. The redundancies are part of the largest reorganization in the history of the Dutch armed forces, with 12,000 positions due to expire.
The news comes just two days after the Daily Telegraph announced reservists could be given legal rights similar to those offered to pregnant women in an attempt to stop workplace discrimination under plans being drawn up by Philip Hammond the Defence Secretary.
Hammond is due to publish proposals in the autumn to rapidly increase the number of reservists in the armed forces – who will be used to effectively replace full-time soldiers in the wake of roughly 20,000 planned redundancies.
