The number of temporary agency workers in Italy during October 2013 was 285,000 reflecting an increase of +4.4%, compared with October 2012, according to the latest figures from Ebitemp, the bilateral organisation for temporary employment representing employers’ associations and unions.
The number of hours worked was approximately 27.2 million during the month, an increase of +3.2% year-on-year. The number of hours worked per worker decreased by -1.1% on an annual basis. The unemployment rate in Italy during October was 12.5%, which remains the same as the previous month and an increase of +1.2 points compared with October 2012.
Staffing Industry Analysts believes the staffing market in Italy will improve during 2014 and may grow by as much as +5%.
