Staffing agencies increasingly hire psychologists in order to better understand their job candidates. Recent research carried out by Professor Claudio Bosio of the Catholic University del Sacro Cuore in Milan, reveals that 50% of qualified psychologists operating in the private sector already work for staffing agencies. Professor Bosio's research also shows that the number of psychologists working for staffing agencies is expected to grow by 61%, Italian daily Corriere della Sera reports.
Alessandra Rizzi, Human Resources Director at staffing agency Randstad Group Italy, said "psychology graduates are interesting job candidates not just because of the subject they have studied but also because they often have a team work attitude and an ability to adapt. These are important skills in times of crisis."
Randstad Italy intends to hire 41 psychologists for their offices across Italy. Staffing firm GI Group is looking for 20 newly-qualified psychologists and staffing firm Right Management intends to hire 10 psychologists for their offices in Milan, Turin, Bologna and Rome.
