Italy — New regional incentivisation scheme for outplacement agencies

06 November 2009

The regional government of Lombardy (in the prosperous North of Italy) has decided to widen the incentivisation system of paying staffing agencies 700 Euro for finding six month jobs for the unemployed and 1,300 Euro for jobs lasting at least 12 months, to include outplacement agencies from 1 December 2009.

According to press agency ASCA, the system, which has already been in place for temporary and permanent staffing agencies since April this year with a budget of 112 million Euro, will be extended to outplacement agencies under the same conditions with an extra budget of 28.6 million Euro.

Gianni Rossoni, the government of Lombardy's representative for Education, Training and Labour said "with this initiative we are creating an incentive for outplacement agencies to improve the quality and results of their services."
