In terms of business sectors; temporary staffing and permanent recruitment are still the leading business sectors for the Group, reporting year-on-year sales growth of +5%. The company’s outplacement business reported the most significant year-on-year growth in sales of +14%.
Stefano Colli-Lanzi, CEO of GI Group, commented: “We are very proud of the results we reached in 2013, especially since these results came in what is still considered a very difficult macroeconomic scenario, mainly in Europe and Italy.”
“We focused on overall efficiency and our internal organisation, offering effective and flexible HR solutions to multinational companies. 2013 was also the year of a new model of territorial presence, based on partnerships with local leading businesses. The company will continue pursuing this strategy also in the next years. We aim at increasing further the presence of the Group internationally within 2014, expanding towards other nations in Europe and Middle East, and then moving on to new counties in Africa, in the Americas in 2015 and in APAC by the end of 2016.”
During 2013, GI Group managed to consolidate and expand its presence thanks to partnership agreements, resulting in access to 12 new countries in the world. At present, the Group operates in Italy, Argentina, Brazil, Bulgaria, China, Croatia, France, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Lithuania, Montenegro, Poland, the UK, the Czech Republic, Romania, Russia, Serbia and Spain. Via partnership agreements, GI Group now has a presence in Albania, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Belgium, Chile, Cyprus, the United Arab Emirates, Greece, Kazakhstan, Malta, the Netherlands, and Switzerland.
In 2013, GI Group also launched Wyser, its new global brand for middle management search and selection. Wyser replaced GU Research in Italy and all other search and selection companies in the countries in which the Group operated in this segment.
“In 2012 we said we intended to be present in 30 countries in the world over the next five years: this goal was reached easily and in advance, compared to the deadline that was set. I also think that in 2013 the Group paved the way to reach another important goal, that of being part of a small group of staffing companies able to offer HR services, globally,” Mr Colli-Lanzi concluded.
According to research conducted by Staffing Industry Analysts, GI Group is among the top 30 staffing firms in the world.
