Germany — Tax revenues expected to be higher than forecast

22 June 2010

New analysis carried out by the Institute for World Economy (IFW) in Kiel, forecasts that the German taxman will collect between 515 and 522 billion Euro this year due to the improved economy.

This would be between 5 and 7 billion Euro more than predicted by the independent Work Group for Tax Revenue Forecasts (Arbeitskreis Steuerschaetzung) only six weeks ago.

IFW Tax Expert, Alfred Boss, told German business daily Handelsblatt "the positive economic trends and the stable labour market will be the reasons for the increase in tax revenues."
