A district court in Kassel showed mercy with a former staffing firm director who admitted to transferring nearly €200,000 of corporate assets to a number of personal accounts, according to local media reports. The court gave the 49-year old a suspended sentence on Wednesday.
The director, who has not been identified, worked for a local small to medium-sized staffing company with 200 employees. She admitted to taking around €199,000 in corporate assets to fund the medical treatment of her three autistic children in the US.
Although she left the country with the money, she returned to Germany on her own accord and was then taken into custody. She asserted her regrets for taking the money of which she has so far returned €20,000.
