Germany – Skills shortage expected to worsen

22 August 2012

The German staffing industry is increasingly feeling the bite from skills shortage, according to the iGZ barometer.

The market research firm Social Innovation GmbH conducts a quarterly survey whereby members of the association of the small and medium temporary work agency (iGZ) share their views on the latest industry trends, as well as providing data such as the number of employees and vacancies.

Preliminary results for the Q2-2012 survey indicate that most members expect skills shortages to worsen. This is bad news for the German economy, as trends in the temporary work are often seen as the benchmark for things to come in the labour market as a whole.
