Germany – ManpowerGroup announces new CEO after surprise resignation

11 March 2013

ManpowerGroup Germany has appointed Herwarth Brune as new country manager, following the surprise departure of former CEO Vera Calasan. 46-year old Mr Brune will take over his new responsibilities from 1 May.

He previously worked as general manager operations at ISS Facility Services, one of the world’s largest facility services providers.

“I’m very much looking forward to my new tasks. It is an important target for me to strengthen the high-value services of ManpowerGroup,” said Mr Brune.

The company’s president of Northern European operations, Hans Leentjes, is currently filling the post until Mr Brune takes over at the start of May. He praised Mr Brune as a “top manager” of the service sector industry.

Vera Calasan had previously worked as country manager at ManpowerGroup. Her departure from the firm was announced last month.

ManpowerGroup’s European operations have been flagging with German revenue falling -6% during the fourth quarter as recruiters continue to struggle across the region.
