Germany — IT consulting is jobseekers' most favoured sector

A new survey carried out by staffing agency Randstad Germany among 10,000 potential employees aged between 18 and 65 reveals that IT consulting, the pharmaceutical industry and the chemical industry are job seekers' most favoured sectors.

40% of respondents would like to work for an IT consulting or a pharmaceutical company. 36% would like to work in the chemical industry.


13% of respondents believe that they can find interesting jobs in IT consulting firms. 12% regard IT consulting firms as financially stable.

7% of respondents believe that they can find interesting jobs in the chemical and pharmaceutical industries. 9% regard pharmaceutical companies as financially stable. However, 12% of respondents were attracted by the salary levels in these industries.

36% of respondents regard the car/vehicle industry as attractive. 33% would like to work either in the transport/logistics sector or the electronics industry.

Randstad Germany Spokesperson, Petra Timm, said "28% of people surveyed would like to work in the services sector and 31% would like to work in the metal working industry. Only 18% find the retail sector attractive."
