Continually evolving technology and software makes it challenging for IT projects to find suitable employees. As a result more and more employers are turning to staffing agencies to source suitable talent, according to a study by Lünendonk, a marketing research and consultancy company.
In 2012 85,000 IT freelancers were working across Germany, an increased from 79,000 in 2011. The largest clients were IT service providers and software manufacturers. Nearly 80% of freelance IT positions came from the high-tech sector. IT professionals with expertise in SAP and Java produce the highest demand, with 18.6% and 14.5% of the demand of all projects from companies. Other areas of expertise in demand are Windows experts (11.2%) and C++ programmers (10.5%).
The market share of the top 10 providers in this category is 17.5%; and includes companies such as Hays, Solcom, 1st Solution Consulting, Information Services Gulp, and Quest Software Services.
