Germany – Highly skilled temporary workers in demand

11 July 2013

Highly skilled and qualified temporary workers are in demand across Germany, according to Hays Temp Germany. Three out of four temporary employees working with Hays Temp Germany have university degrees and are able to secure work for an average of more than 12 months at a time.

“Temporary work is often overlooked as an employment option in the current job market. It is increasingly important to provide skilled workers with exciting projects, comprehensive training, and continuing education opportunities. As employers, we place a high value on what our customers appreciate,” said Markus Ley, managing director of Hays Temp Germany.

The skills most in demand are engineers, equating to three quarters of the 2,000 skilled temporary employees Hays have recruited. Other areas of specialism include IT, finance, and construction. Temporary workers working for Hays chose temporary employment in order to gain experience in various companies and on different projects. Hays estimates that 20% of their employees move straight into temporary employment once they have completed their education.
