The Human Resources agency group DIS AG (Adecco subsidiary) has been awarded the bronze medal in the 'Best Employers in Germany' competition for the category of 'companies of up to 2,000 employees'. Gold in the category went to care for the elderly specialist, Domino-World. Silver was awarded to 3M ESPE.
The awards are based on confidential research among employees who are questioned on whether they feel they are being treated fairly in terms of their age, origin, sex and how they rank the competence of their management.
The award was presented to DIS Human Resources Director, Raymond Opszalski by Employment Minister Ursula von der Leyen, who acts as patron of the annual competition.
Opszalski said "the fact that we are in third place shows that it is possible that a staffing agency can be a very attractive employer."
Opszalski's comment comes before the background that the reputation of temporary employment agencies has very much suffered recently from the highly publicised 'Schlecker scandal', where permanent staff was replaced with temporary employees in order to reduce wages.
The German competition is part of the best employers in Europe initiative started by the European Union in 2002.
