One of Germany’s largest staffing agencies, DIS AG which is part of the Adecco group, has acquired Atrias Personalmanagement GmbH. Headquartered in Hamburg, Atrias had revenues of 42 million Euro in 2011 and a headcount of approximately 1,350 specialising in the provision of temporary agency staff for the chemistry, finance, and technical industries in North and East Germany. Originally founded in 2004, the company has 17 offices including Kiel, Dresden and Munich.
The new CEO of DIS AG, Peter Blersch who only took up his post at the beginning of the year said, “We [DIS AG and Atrias] complement each other perfectly – even when it comes to the firm culture.”
Majority shareholder and managing director for Atrias, Jochen Ziegler, commented “By becoming a subsidiary of DIS AG we can develop our strengths in individual departments and offer excellent prospects to our employees.” Mr Ziegler will continue to work for the group.
The deal between the two staffing agencies was set into motion when both of the CEOs met at an award ceremony. The acquisition is not only meaningful in expanding DIS AG’s headcount to about 11,000+ employees, but, according to the German newspaper Handelsblatt it will also increase the company’s business volume in Germany by +10%.
