The latest seasonally adjusted data published last night by the government's official job centres 'Pole Emploi', reveals that temporary employment has grown by +2.3% month-on-month in December 2009. Year-on-year growth in December 2009 was +1.5%.
The number of temporary employees in France reached 549,800, which was up by 12,600 compared to November 2009 and up by 8,100 compared to December 2008.
Temporary employment grew fastest in the construction industry where it was up by +3.2% in December 2009 followed by industry with +2.8% and the services sector with +1.4%.
Year-on-year, temporary employment grew fastest for unqualified labourers with +5%, followed by office workers with +1.5% growth.
Temporary employment, on the other hand, fell by -1.5% among managers and by -1.2% among qualified labourers.
