The latest statistics published by the government's official job centres 'Pole Emploi' reveal that at the end of February 2010 there were 561,400 temporary employees in France. The seasonally adjusted figures show a monthly increase of +1.4% or plus 7,700 temporary employees compared to January 2010.
Compared to February 2009 temporary employment was up by +15.2% or by +74,200 temporary employees.
Compared to January 2010, temporary employment was up by +3.5% in industry and by up +0.2% in the services sector. Only in construction, temporary employment was down by -0.8%.
Year-on-year, temporary employment was up by +25% among unqualified labourers, up by +9.2% among qualified labourers, up by +11.7% among office staff and up by +10.4% among managers.
