The awards ceremony for the best France-based companies to work for took place in Paris last night. The ranking is based on a survey among 10,000 French employees carried out by Randstad France and follows the example of the Belgian ranking, which is now in its eighth year.
Randstad France President, Francois Beharel, presented winners with the awards. At the top of the list of companies, which French employees would like to work for most came Electricity of France (EDF) followed by Eurocopter, Thales, Air France-KLM, Turbomeca, Air Bus France, Dassault Aviation, Sanofi Aventis, Nestle France and L'Oreal.
Apart from the general ranking there was also an industry sector ranking. Beharel explains the fact that EDF is so popular by the "growing interest in an industry related to energy and the environment, which is regarded as an industry of the future."
Eurocopter represents heavy industry and high technology. It is notable that the large car manufacturers were not on the list of preferred employers in this sector and the hotel and restaurant sectors were missing from the list completely because they did not get enough votes.
