Francoise Gri, President of staffing group Manpower France since 2007 and previously Head of IBM France, told Challenges Magazine that 2010 will not be as bad a year for the staffing industry as 2009 was.
Gri said "it can hardly get any worse than 2009. Let me remind you of the numbers: -28% less temporary jobs and probably between -35% and -38% less permanent recruitment. 2010 will be better than 2009. The only question is: how much better?"
Gri went on to say "it will undoubtedly be managers and young graduates who will have to wait longest until the jobs market gets better for them. Companies will in a first instance spend their money on contract workers and temporary workers. Increased permanent recruitment will come at a later stage."
