The wages and salaries sum of the whole economy was +5.8% greater in the past May to July period than in the corresponding period twelve months earlier. In July alone, the wages and salaries sum of the whole economy grew by +5.2% year-on-year. In the May to July period one year ago, the wages and salaries sum grew by +2%, according to the latest data, published today, by Statistics Finland (Tilastokeskus).
In Q2 2011, the wages and salaries sum rose in all industries for which statistics are compiled. Growth was fastest in construction (+8.4%), private health and social work (+7.8%), other services (+6.6%) and trade (+6.4%). Growth was most moderate in financial services where it was up by +3.7% year-on-year.
