Herwig Muyldermans, Director General of the Federation of Employment Partners (Federgon), has been appointed Special Vice-President of the European Confederation of Private Employment Agencies (Eurociett), for the duration of the Belgian European Union Council Presidency, which started on 1 July 2010.
Federgon is the Belgian member organisation of Eurociett.
The position will be enable Herwig Muyldermans to better represent Eurociett's interests vis-a-vis the EU Council Presidency, acting as a focal point between the two parties. The position was initially established during a meeting held on 12 February by the Eurociett Board.
During the previous Spanish EU Council Presidency, the position of Special Vice-President was held by Francisco Aranda, the President of the Spanish member organisation of Eurociett, the Association of Large Temporary Employment Agencies (Agett).
Eurociett has acknowledged the positive impact Francisco Aranda had as Special Vice-President in raising the profile of agency work in Spain and also in calling for structural reforms to the Spanish labour market, which are now in the process of being implemented.
