Denmark – Online job advert levels create optimism

06 August 2013

Danish online job board Jobindex A/S (JOBNDX: CPH) published online job advertisement figures for July creating a more optimistic economic outlook. Used as a ‘soft’ economic indicator, the slight increase in the number of jobs compared with last year had been viewed cautiously but optimistically.

In July 2013, the number of jobs advertisements published on Jobindex was 16,100, an increase of 1,300 from 14,800 during the same period last year. These figures remain nearly half the level of advertisements compared with its peak during 2007 and the beginning of 2008, when the number of new job advertisements was over 30,000 each month.

The number of new jobs decreased in June and July, following approximately 17,000 new jobs posted in May 2013. Despite the slight decrease, Jobindex remains optimistic that levels continue to outperform 2012 new job advertisement numbers.

JobIndex operates under the brand Jobsafari in a number of countries including Germany, France, Austria, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Spain, and across Scandinavia.
