Randstad subsidiary Galilei's order book for outplacement assignments is up by 57% in 2009 compared to the previous year, RTL reports.
Due to the numerous corporate re-structurings in the Flemish-speaking part of Belgium, outplacement assignments are up by 73% when compared to last year.
However, the number of people finding a job by way of an outplacement is down on the previous year. Between 2007 and 2008, 75% of participants in outplacement programmes found a job. This number is now reduced to 58%.
Over the past four years the average age of participants in outplacement programmes has risen from 41 to 48 years of age.
