Belgium — More students need to work throughout the year

30 June 2010

According to a new report on student labour published by staffing agency Randstad, between 360,000 and 400,000 students will be looking for a Summer (July to September) job this year. This accounts for 62% of all students and is expected to remain stable compared to last year.

Last year, 160,000 students found their temporary Summer jobs via a staffing agency, 30,000 of which via Randstad.

The number of students who have some form of employment throughout the year has, however, increased from 41% last year to 45% this year. 27,000 students work regularly via Randstad during their student terms.

The number of students who work in the black economy is estimated to have fallen by -10%.
