According to new research entitled 'Barometer of Satisfaction' carried out by temporary employment agency Tempo Team (part of Randstad) among 626 temporary and permanent employees as well as 154 HR managers, Belgian workers are more concerned about job security than factors like salary levels and the balance between working and private lives, RTBF reports.
One in two workers feels overworked. 71% are unhappy about their prospects for promotion, 52% are unhappy with their salary levels and 50% feel that they don't get enough professional training.
21% of workers would like to change job but do not dare to do so because they feel that conditions would be similar in other companies.
Employers, however, feel that they offer attractive working and training conditions. A Tempo Team spokesman, said "it is clear that a large number of employers overestimate themselves. If employers do not invest actively in a policy of staff retention there is a great risk that employees will move elsewhere as soon as the economy gets better."
