New research carried out by job board Monster Belgium among 631 employees reveals that only a minority of employees are satisfied with the amount of money they receive from their employers.
49% of respondents believe that they are not paid enough for the amount of work they do whilst 10% believe that they don't earn enough compared to their colleagues. 28% would like to be paid more and only 13% are completely satisfied with their pay.
Ann Van den Begin, Marketing Manager at Monster Belgium, commented "what I am surprised about is that 87% of workers leave all initiative on salary issues to their employers. It is also up to the employees to negotiate either their level of pay or their form of payment such as flexible working arrangements. If employees are not happy with their current pay they should perhaps look for employment elsewhere."
