Austria – Temporary employment popularity improving

27 June 2013

Austrians are increasingly turning to temporary employment in the fight against long-term unemployment. Temporary staffing agencies are providing increasing opportunities for people to enter the job market; whether beginning a career, returning from maternity leave, or simply looking to change job.

Managing Director of temporary employment agency, Runtime Service Austria, commented, “In terms of percentages, temporary employment was indeed a stepchild, but companies are becoming more open and more involved with temporary employment agencies for their staffing issues.”

The benefits of temporary staffing took centre stage at the April meeting of the International Labour Organisation (ILO), in Oslo. President of Ciett (the International Confederation of Private Employment Agencies), Fred van Haasteren, and Euro-ciett President Annemarie Muntz attended the meeting, and emphasised the importance of European employment agencies in the fight against unemployment.
