Austria - Income equality better among full-time employees

The average gross annual income of all employees across Austria was 24,516 Euro in 2010, according to the latest analysis published by the national statistics office (Statistik Austria). 

The average gross annual income for men was 30,316 Euro. For women it was 18,270 Euro, 60% of the average for men. 

When excluding part-time workers and those who did not work during the entire year of 2010, the average gross annual income for all employees in Austria was 35,474 Euro, 38,056 Euro among men and 30,775 Euro among women, i.e. 81% of the average for men. 

Only 919 employees in the entire country earned more than 500,000 Euro per annum in 2010. They were almost exclusively men.
