Austria — 64% of companies plan to employ temporary employees in 2010

20 November 2009

According to the latest figures from the Austrian Ministry for Labour, the number of temporary employees in the country fell by 16% to 57,230 between mid 2008 and mid 2009.

However, a new survey commissioned by temporary staffing agency group Trenkwalder reveals that 64% of agency clients plan to employ temporary employees again in 2010.

Among those companies who have laid off permanent staff during the current economic crisis, 69% intend to employ temporary employees in the next year.

Trenkwalder say in a statement that telecommunication, insurance and the public sector have been unaffected by the fall in temporary employment figures.
