Around the web – Recruiters complain about new law

25 March 2013

Recruiters in Slovakia have criticised a new law that aims to increase permanent employment and reduces the number of times employers can renew short-term contracts, the Slovak Spectator reports.

Ľuboš Sirota from the staffing firm McRoy Group told the paper that the changes in law were “unprofessional.” The new law is expected to come into force in May. The paper writes the law “will prevent companies from prolonging the employment of short-term contract workers more than five times over two years and instead requires them to be hired on a permanent basis.”
