UK – Supply chain Forum to address sub-vendor financing

21 March 2012

On Thursday 10 May 2012, ABFA and APSCo will host the second Recruitment Supply Chain Business Forum, which will be attended by HR Directors and procurement professionals from both private and public sector organisations that engage Recruitment Process Outsourcing (RPO) and Managed Service Provider (MSP) solutions.

The Forum will address the funding of sub-vendors, something which plays an important role in the agency worker supply chain because most of the time staffing companies pay workers before they receive payment by their clients. This cash flow is normally bridged by invoice discounting and factoring and recently organisations have used a small number of RPO companies as contractual intermediaries between the staffing company and their business – this has significantly increased the risk for lenders by placing a higher percentage of business with a smaller group of companies.

The significance of sub-vendor funding will become apparent during this forum as without it most of the staffing industry would not be able to trade while agency workers would also not be able to end users on attractive terms.

But the Forum will also address other current supply chain issues that can affect the quality of candidates, reduce the size of the talent pool, clarity of liability and financial stability of critical elements within the chain.

The Forum will be held in London at CBI Headquarters, Centre Point, 103 New Oxford Street with registration starting at 8.30am and closing at 2.30pm. The event is organized by the Association of Professional Staffing Companies (APSCo) and the Asset Based Finance Association (ABFA).

Attendance at this Forum for Staffing Industry Analyst research subscribers (CWS Council members) is free. Please contact Hayley Morbin at APSCo to request an invitation on 08458 997 388. To download a brochure for this event, please click here.
